Programme description:
A Fairy Tale’s night will be presented by the China Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra for kids, adults and elderly to enjoy. “Snow-White” and “Hӓnsel & Gretel” are two famous German fairy tales which are known widely across the world. The Brothers Grimm published the “Snow-White” and “Hӓnsel & Gretel” in 1812 in the first edition of their Grimms’ Fairy Tales. Throughout the centuries, these two tales have been adapted to various media, including movies, plays and an opera “Hӓnsel & Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck etc.
The orchestra will introduce the two famous fairy tales of “Snow-White” and “Hӓnsel & Gretel” to the audience by a live orchestral performance of famous music by renowned composers such as Antonín Dvořák, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Edvard Grieg, Frank Churchill and Engelbert Humperdinck. The orchestral performance will be accompanied by story-telling, ballet performance and projection of slides.

《白雪公主》及《糖果屋》兩個經典童話故事將由中國香港青年交響樂團於一個童話般的晚上演譯給小朋友、成人及長者欣賞。《白雪公主》及《糖果屋》(又從德語譯為《漢賽爾與葛麗特》) 是兩個著名的德國童話故事, 現廣泛流傳於全世界。這兩個故事最著名的版本見於德國格林兄弟的《格林童話》, 原版於1812年出版。經過多世紀的流傳, 這兩個童話故事已有多種衍生作品, 如電影、舞台劇及歌劇《漢賽爾與葛麗特》等等。
交響樂團將會以世界著名作曲家的交響樂現場演譯這兩個故事, 其中的殿堂級作曲家包括: 德沃夏克、里姆斯基-科萨科夫、格里格、 邱吉尔及洪佩爾丁克等等。 交響樂團郭健文 中國香港青年交響樂團團長兼首席的演奏將會伴有童話故事敍述、芭蕾舞表演及幻燈片播放。
